Fundraising: Recent

Over the past few years the School Association has raised money by running cake sales, Fireworks, Cinema afternoons,  Summer and Christmas Fayres, Christmas tree sales,  Easter Chocolate games, Discos, Fashion shows, Bag 2 School collections, Quizzes and a whole host of other events.

Sometimes we have been fundraising for a specific target: we donated £13,100 towards the new library and the children all enjoy using it!

Each class and the nursery children has a set time to visit the library during the school week. The children can also visit at lunchtime.

In recent years we have donated money towards the purchase of 35 laptops so that there is a mobile ICT suite.

This means that if the ICT suite is in use another class can be doing work using these laptops.

We also donated towards the provision of a whiteboard in every class and in the ICT suite.

The swimming pool  is a fantastic asset for our school. Did you read the recent news article that said ‘Half of children leaving primary school cannot swim? ‘ . As our children have swimming lessons from year 1 there is a great opportunity for them to learn to swim.

We have recently paid to replace the pool liner and we received a grant to replace the pool cover; both of which should ensure that the pool remains a fantastic  asset for years to come.

Families can use the pool after school, at weekends and in the holidays for a small fee.

Sometimes we give a smaller amount of money, for example we paid £100 towards some clocks for the chess club.

We usually pay for gifts for each child as they leave year 6 to help them remember Earley  St Peter’s.

In 2012 we bought each child in school a money box to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
